Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival - October 2002
We just want to say that the bus trip to the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival was a great success. People arrived at The Yarn Tree for 7:00am coffee and pastries. Then, as people boarded the bus, Kim handed out goodie bags filled with products from a variety of vendors. We had perfect weather as the day was sunny and warm. By 10:00am we were picking pumpkins at Greig Farm, oohing and aahing over the foliage and wondering why we don't get out of the city more often. Next we went to visit a yummy bakery, and then did a little wine tasting at The Alison Winery. Thanks to Snapple we had lots of their beverage to quench our thirst throughout the day.

We then moved on to the Sheep & Wool Festival. You've all heard of shop 'til you drop, how about shop 'til the bus is full!! Monsey Bus Lines provided us with a very comfortable and roomy bus. Peggy Robinson and her team placed 2nd in The Sheep to Shawl Competition. All of The Yarn Tree entries in The Handmade Competition looked great and we even took home some ribbons!! There was lots to see and the afternoon seemed to fly by. The Festival ended at 4:00pm so we got back on the bus to face returning to the city.

The trip was made all better by Yuengling Brewery who donated beer for the cocktail party, during which we held the raffle, with prizes donated by a variety of vendors. Unfortunately I was unable to get the Karaoke machine up and running, but a few hearty souls in the back of the bus entertained us with song. We were back at The Yarn Tree by 7:20pm and people were asking if we can go to The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in the Spring.

The grab bags, entertainment and beverages for our October 20th bus trip were made possible through generous donations from:
