Swifts
A swift is used to hold a skein of yarn. You simply unfold the skein, slip it over the swift and push the swift open. It unwinds as you make balls or measure a warp. We have two swifts, the smaller one is made of plastic and metal and will hold skeins up to one pound and sixty inches in circumference. Our larger, wooden swift is a traditional Scandinavian style. It holds skeins up to two pounds and 100" in circumference.
