Hats-Hand Felted by You
Instructor: Shannon Brock & Kelly Christy
Saturday & Sunday, October 6th & 7th
10:00am - 4:00pm
Cost: $295.00 (includes materials and lunch each day)
In this 2-day workshop, participants will create a one of a kind hand
felted hat from start to finish. Beginning on the first day students
will prepare and felt the fiber for their bell, one of the basic forms
in hat making. Students will have a choice of over 60 colors using the
Ashland Bay Merino 64’s. After completing the bell, students will
choose either a cowboy, pillbox or cloche block. The wet bell will be
stretched over the hat block, corded and left to dry overnight. On day
two we will finish the design of the blocked hat, learn to make it fit
to your head size and embellish.
Shannon teaches felting at The Yarn Tree (many of you may have already taken Basic Felting from her),
