Maya Blue is a centuries-old color dating back to 880 A.D. Used by both the Mayans and the Aztecs to adorn manuscripts, sculptures, and frescos. The color has been found to be very lightfast.
It is specially prepared using Indigofera Guatemelsis powder and white clay.
The watercolor is handmade in small batches in my studio in Roanoke, VA.
I use only the finest Gum Arabic, Vegan Glycerin, Tupelo Honey, and Clove Essential Oil. This combination means the paint will flow easily.
It is repeatedly mulled to have as little grain as possible. We add a little Clove Essential Oil as a preservative.
Due to the slow process of making watercolor paints the product will ship approximately 1 week after you place your order!
Please note this product is for use with watercolor papers - it is not for use in painting on textile fabric!
