How much dye to order:

All natural dyeing is based on wog or wof weight of goods or weight of fabric
Here is the formula for the ground walnut hulls.

20-25% wog for light shades

50-60% wog for medium shades

100% wog for dark shades

For example 1 pound of fabric = 16 ounces = 453.59237 grams

Round up to 500 grams (17.6 ounces)

multiply the % of ground walnut hulls x the wog/wof

20% x 500 grams = 100 grams or 3.5 ounces of walnut hulls

50% x 500 grams = 250 grams or 8.81849 ounces - round up to 9 ounces walnut hulls

100% x 500 grams = 500 grams or 17.637 ounces – round up to 18 ounces walnut hulls
